When I first started my practice, I focused only on adults. Most of my patients came with issues like gut problems, hormone imbalances, and autoimmune diseases. I loved helping them heal. But then, something surprising happened… As these adults began to feel better — more energetic, less bloated, and truly healthy — they started asking me, “Can you help my child too?”

That simple question changed everything.

Children Were Struggling Too

These kids weren’t just dealing with common colds or minor tummy aches. They were facing serious problems like:

  • ADHD
  • Autism
  • Gut issues
  • Food sensitivities
  • Sleep troubles
  • Developmental delays
  • Frequent infections and even bedwetting

And the scariest part? Many of these children were being diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes, IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), and hormonal issues — conditions that were once rare in kids.

What Was Going Wrong?

I started noticing a pattern. After helping so many adults with autoimmune issues, I saw that more and more children were now falling sick with similar problems. So I asked myself:

  • Why aren’t kids growing properly?
  • Why do they have hormone problems at such a young age?
  • Why are their immune systems so weak?

The answer kept pointing to one root cause: A weak digestive fire — known as Agni in Ayurveda.

The Importance of Agni (Digestive Fire)

In Ayurveda, Agni is like the engine of our body. It helps us digest food, absorb nutrients, and get rid of waste. When Agni is weak in children:

  • Their nutrients aren’t absorbed well
  • Their immune system becomes weak
  • Their body stores toxins (Ama), causing inflammation and illness

This can lead to:

  • Frequent infections
  • Poor growth
  • Gut inflammation
  • Autoimmune issues
  • Hormonal imbalances

Why Functional and Ayurvedic Medicine Helps

Many parents were tired. They had tried all kinds of medicines. But nothing worked long-term. They were told everything was “normal” — even when it clearly wasn’t.

  • They didn’t want to just give more medicine.
  • They wanted natural, root-cause solutions.
  • They wanted to understand what was really happening inside their child’s body.

That’s when I knew: Kids need this care too.

Kids Deserve to Thrive

We started seeing the kids who were dismissed. The ones who were told, “It’s all in your head.” The ones whose parents had that gut feeling something deeper was wrong. And I listened. Because that gut feeling? It’s often right.

That’s why more and more families are turning to functional and Ayurvedic medicine — because the root cause matters, and because every child deserves the chance to grow strong, healthy, and happy.
