Things That Ayurveda Say About Sex

Sexual health is an indicator of good physical and mental health. They don’t teach us this in school, but according to Ayurveda, the possibility of a sex life and a strong sexual desire are signs of good health.

For our body to function properly, the doshas must be in balance. But things like smoking, poor nutrition, not drinking enough water, not eating enough healthy oils and fats, and not having healthy fluids in the body can cause imbalances and physical ailments. This imbalance leads to dehydration in the body, which aggravates ageing.

Ayurveda and Sexual Health

In Ayurveda, sex, the reproductive tissue, or shukra, is one of the seven tissues, or dhatus. Others include rasa (plasma), rakta (blood), Mamsa (muscle tissue), Medas (fat tissue), Asti (bone tissue), and Majja (bone marrow).

The Shukra Dhatu is associated with reproductive tissues such as sperm and sperm cells and eggs in the female body. This means that it is said to help maintain and control the overall well-being of healthy and balanced sperm cells. Therefore, excessive libido can lead to imbalance and an increase in sperm count, which can lead to problems related to impotence and infertility, says Ayurveda.

  • According to Ayurveda, honesty and integrity start a relationship. Adultery, adultery or adultery is the only punishable crime.
  • Ayurveda accepts female intercourse. So oral sex and other such pleasures are not great according to Ayurveda.
  • Ayurveda strongly opposes the idea of having sex with older women or children.
  • According to Ayurvedic journals, you should not have sex if you are pregnant or physically and mentally unwell.
  • Always have sex when both partners are in a comfortable position. This is to make the relationship happy.

Ayurveda says sex is better in the winter and spring. This is when Kapha predominates, i.e., when the water element is abundant. This is when nature perfects the Shukra in our veins, making it the best time to conceive.

Likewise, sexual activity decreases during the summer and monsoon due to the predominance of pitta and vata energies. Its reproductive capacity is believed to be at its lowest at this time.
